Julianna Lookout
The lake doesn't have a known gamefish population, but otters and loons appear in the spring to enjoy the abundant minnow supply. Sometimes trumpeter swans stop by. In fact, there are few animals that occupy Minnesota's skies and land that don't drop by at least once in awhile; and many call it home.
The springtime also brings the sounds of a tropical rainforest to our Minnesota lake. You can expect to hear all manner of frogs and insects in courtship singing rituals from dusk till dawn at this time of year. You may find that their beautiful and rythmic notes make for the year's best seasonal evening soundtrack.
While animals and birds love swimming and drinking from the lake, humans may find their experience with the water best appreciated from the provided canoe or paddleboat. The landing and deck of the Northwest facing Lookout home allows beautiful views of the lake. Sunsets, the Northern lights, and approaching fierce weather make for spectacular viewing.
